These arrived from Treena, another mailart artist I occasionally exchange with.
The package contained an atc and a lovely little book documenting an international exchange she did, both came in little red envelopes.

More Mailart for the Cafe

Radiant Fire (A found Poem)

More for Debbies mailart call.
The collage contains a 'found' poem.
I opened the pages of a book at random and cut out the first word my finger alighted on.
I set myself the limit to 10 words, then I had to arrange them into meaning.
In this case I did the collage first and found the poem after, but it's fun the other way round too.
The little envelope on the back of the collage contains an atc and I sealed it with an artist stamp I made a few years ago for a project called "Post Bandit"

Mail Art & Illo Friday

My second contribution to Illustration Friday
"Dark Opera"
"Daphne wondered:
could she be happy with a man who, she discovered, displayed an even more extravagant taste in earrings than her own??"
This is a piece for a mail art project in response to this call for art:
My name's Debbie and I own a cafe/bar/restaurant in Sherwood, Nottingham, England, UK. I came across your website while searching for mail artists and am writing to ask for some input to an idea I've had...?
I've just recently taken over the restaurant and am looking to introduce a cafe/bar scrap book. The scrap book is a sort of 'collection' consisting of images, words, ideas and photographs and I am inviting customers to read, comment and add to its pages...I want to include your mail art work in there, if you'd like to send me some!
It's a way of getting the mail art message out there and because I love the collaborative nature of mail art I want to do anything I can to support it!
Hope you like my contribution Debbie!
